Child and Youth Counselling Services

Before your child's first counselling session, a parent or carer will need to attend a 60-minute intake appointment to discuss your child's history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This initial session provides an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of your child's unique needs and to answer any questions you may have about the counselling process. If your child is over the age of 16, a parent or carer session is not mandatory.

I believe that parents and carers play an important role in a child's therapeutic journey. Wherever appropriate, I encourage collaboration throughout the process while always respecting your child's comfort, privacy, and developmental needs. Children are also welcome to invite a parent or carer to join part or all of a session if they feel this would help them feel safe and supported.
